Christmas is almost here! Can you believe it?! For me, fall is truly the most wonderful time of year. We get to see the kids in their costumes for Halloween (and maybe even have some fun dressing up too), we enjoy much needed time with family for Thanksgiving, and we remind each other how much we care with thoughtful gifts and special traditions for Christmas. Then there’s cooler weather and all the fun that comes with saying goodbye to the year and hello to a new one!
Last year, for the very first time in my entire existence, we traded a real tree for an artificial one (inserts gasps). Such a hard thing to do when you’re used to having real trees – a tradition carried from childhood right into adulthood. You can read about the experience here. I cannot believe I am saying this, but I will never go back to a real Christmas tree. Like ever. We were spending upwards of $500 every year (think big – like 10ft+ and sprayed white) for a tree that we’d throw out in a month or so. And we’d have to wait until Kelly’s Christmas Trees (our go-to in Orlando) set up shop. Now, we can put up our tree right after Halloween (my husband used this to convince me!).
Safe to say it worked and I’m sold! I’m sharing this again because, if you’re on the fence, do it! Quality artificial Christmas trees are not cheap, however your new fake Christmas tree will pay for itself in no time and you’ll have it for many years to come. The video below is from last year, since it’s not Halloween yet (almost!). We’ll be putting up our tree again later this week! For size reference, this is a 12′ King Flock. What’s your preference, real or fake? Let me know in the comments!
